For landscaping and home-service businesses

Your customers text. Alpaca texts back.

Alpaca answers texts, missed calls and website chat for landscaping businesses. It books open times onto your Google Calendar and texts you when a job is set or needs you.

Alpaca is in early access. Creating an account needs an invitation code from the person who invited you.

How customers reach you

Customers keep texting, calling and using your website. Alpaca covers all three.

Texts

Alpaca replies in your voice and follows your rules. It is built to quote only the prices and services you list, and when a customer replies STOP it stops texting them.

Missed calls

Calls ring you first. If you miss one, the caller gets a text and Alpaca carries on from there. You get an alert each time.

Website chat

Paste one line of code on your site and a chat button appears. Alpaca asks for a phone number or email before it books. You can turn it off anytime.

These are samples for a pretend business, Pine Street Lawn Care. Nothing here is a real customer.

What the owner gets texted

Alpaca

How it works

You set it up once, in about 30 minutes. After that Alpaca does the texting.

1. Tell Alpaca about your business

Your services, prices, hours, service area and how you like to sound. Alpaca is built to stick to the prices and services you list.

2. Connect your calendar

Share your Google Calendar with Alpaca. It checks your open times and adds an event for every booking. You can move or delete any event.

3. Try it, then go live

Chat with Alpaca as a pretend customer first. When your business number is approved by the phone carriers, it starts answering for real.

What to expect

Setup takes about 30 minutes. You answer a few questions and share your calendar.

Your number needs carrier approval. Phone carriers review every business that texts customers. That usually takes days, sometimes a few weeks, and Alpaca walks you through it.

Texts to customers are standard messaging. Message and data rates may apply to your customers, and you are responsible for having permission to text them. See the terms.

Questions

What if Alpaca doesn’t know the answer?

It doesn’t guess. It tells the customer you’ll follow up and texts you the details so you can step in.

Can I take over a conversation?

Yes. Press Pause on your dashboard and Alpaca stops replying. Every new message is texted to you until you turn it back on.

Can I cancel?

Anytime. There is no contract, and you keep access until the end of the month you’ve already paid for.

Who can see my customers’ messages?

You can, on your dashboard. Alpaca’s operator can access them only to run and support the service. We don’t sell your data. Read the privacy policy.

Does Alpaca text customers first?

No. It only answers messages customers send to your business number.

Start with the texts you like least.
